Yoga therapy adapts the practice of Yoga and designs a personalized regime of postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation to the needs of people with specific or persistent health problems not usually addressed in a group class. Medical research shows that Yoga Therapy is among the most effective complementary therapies for several common ailments and appropriate for many chronic conditions that persist despite conventional medical treatment. The challenges may be an illness, a temporary condition, or a chronic condition associated with aging or infirmity.
Yoga Therapist Caroline McCarter (RYT 500) uses these techniques to create a personal yoga practice just for you. She does this by observing and identifying your special needs or conditions and creates a customized yoga program to meet those needs as well as focus on your personal desires (flexibility, strength, meditation, and more). The program is set to your particular schedule and time frame to practice at home for self-care.
Besides offering sessions for the healthy individual, you may have specific needs such as:
