Yoga Therapist, Caroline McCarter,
(E-RYT 500) uses these techniques to create a personal yoga practice
just for you. She does this by observing and identifying your special
needs or conditions and creates a customized yoga program to meet those
needs as well as focus on your personal desires (flexibility, strength,
meditation, and more). The program is set to your particular schedule
and time frame to practice at home for self-care.

Treatment of Depression & Anxiety

For depression and anxiety disorders, Caroline frequently prescribes sound along with the movement. Caroline has found that sounding out loud can help let off steam. People with depression should keep moving, and not stay still too long since that can lead to lethargic behavior.
A good recommendation for helping to treat depression and anxiety can include exercises such as bike riding or walking.
Your asana practive should be done with long, smooth, deep breaths. When done correctly, this lowers your heart rate, which lowers the blood pressure, and subsequently lowers the activities of the mind. This will lead to peace of mind and contentment. Thus, many people suffering from anxiety find yoga useful.
